Graduation Ceremony AAPM National Conference 2009

UNE Partnerships’ 2009 Graduation Ceremony was held at the AAPM (Australian Association of Practice Managers) National Conference in Melbourne. The event was attended by more than 40 students who successfully graduated with a UNE Partnerships qualification. To help celebrate, friends and family joined a large contingent of UNE Partnerships assessors and staff. Congratulations to all our graduates and award recipients.

Barbara Meredith Award

This award was instigated by UNE Partnerships’ former Academic Director (Emeritus Professor Geoffrey Meredith) in honour of his late wife who was a strong supporter of professions and professionals in practice. The award is made to graduates with an outstanding level of performance in their study and who demonstrate the ability to apply new skills into their workplace.

Muhammed Khalid
In 2009 Muhammed Khalid, Bunrong Health Service, was the successful recipient. He completed the Diploma of Practice Management.

UNE Partnerships also instigated a new range of recognition awards at the 2009 AAPM National Conference, to acknowledge the outstanding commitment to education and the ongoing support these individuals provide to our students.

Special Recognition Award – Colleen Sullivan

Colleen SullivanColleen’s commitment to the Professional Practice Manager Development Program has been exceptional and her unswerving dedication to students has been outstanding. She has readily given her time and effort and made a large impact on the careers of many.

Based in Brisbane, Colleen has been instrumental in running support groups for AAPM Queensland and AMA Queensland, and presenting UNE Partnerships workshops. She has played an integral role as the liaison person between AAPM National and UNE Partnerships as Chair of AAPM’s ‘Education and Learning’, ‘Growth’ Committees and in developing the AAPM ‘Salary Survey’.
Colleen worked on creating the AAPM Fellowship, a Professional Development Program that promotes excellence and professionalism in practice management.

Gary Smith presented Colleen with her award commenting: “This is only a small token of recognition for the inordinate amount of energy and commitment you have given to furthering the ideals of the very basis on which UNE Partnerships is built – that is, education”.
