UNE Partnerships – NEW qualifications for 2010

New Qualifications 2010Practice management has changed significantly over the last 10 years, in part due to the demands of the practices themselves but also in large part due to the education of practice managers. UNE Partnerships has played a very significant role with its Certificate and Diploma programs in practice management education. When the course came up for review in 2009, UNE Partnerships decided it was a significant opportunity to re-examine the role of practice managers and identify what the industry wanted. After extensive consultation the development team created a new program to better meet the needs of the professions as they move into 2010 and beyond.

UNE Partnerships’ Professional Practice Manager Development Program now consists of two stand- alone qualifications, the Certificate IV in Professional Practice Management and the Diploma of Professional Practice Management.

The Certificate has an operational focus, with an increase in emphasis on human resource management over the previous course; while the Diploma course has a more strategic focus, again with a significant component of human resource management, but also new materials on leadership and continuous improvement. To determine which qualification is suitable to you, UNE Partnerships has designed a questionnaire available at www.practicemanagement.edu.au

Workshops are commencing for the Certificate IV in Professional Practice Management in April, in Sydney and Melbourne; with plans for Diploma of Professional Practice Management workshops later in 2010.
Over the next six months the courses will be customised for each of the professional streams within the current market. Healthcare will be the first of the courses delivered with dentistry and veterinary science in the next roll-out and the final phase will deliver the legal stream. The courses have been developed with new technology in mind and its role in delivery and assessment of materials. There are some exciting opportunities ahead for the program.

The new qualifications once again place UNE Partnerships as the leader of practice management education in both face-to-face and flexible distance delivery modes.
